Edward Kihn

I was born in Philadelphia, received a BFA from Cooper Union and attended the Whitney Independent Study Program. I'm currently working toward an MFA at UCSD.

As an artist working primarily in film, video and installation, I move between narrative, essay and documentary forms in an attempt to visualize history through the elisions, repressions and disavowals that plague its record.

By deriving from these lacunae the structure of constellations, and by unfolding them on screen and in the physical configuration of installations, I hope to instill in the viewer the "sense of possibility" that, as Musil says, things "could probably just as well be otherwise."
