Tim Ridlen

I am motivated by the possibility that artistic practice can be a process of essaying, of weighing ideas, of first-hand trials and attempts. As a form of inquiry, my artistic practice has brought me to the video essay, which offers the possibility to think and write through images. My current research interests include aesthetic education, the production of artists, and the distribution of art through institutions of higher education. I finished my MFA at Bard College in 2010, and my BA/BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007.
