Is an artist and researcher who combines a variety of media including printmaking, photography, sculpture, video, painting, drawing, and ceramic. On his work, as part of a methodology, he has chosen to juxtapose events, images, techniques, materials, and processes which allows him to examine and investigate the experiences of contemporaneity on its local and global proportion as well as to analyze the relationships between contemporary and historical imagery. Conceptually, his work emphasizes hybridization, anomaly, and fusion as part of a complex process that leads him to question how the structure of collective imagination is build, its significance as well as its impact on cultural memory. Bastardo is living between California and Guadalajara, Mexico. Currently he pursues an MFA degree in visual arts at the University of California- San Diego.
